St. Germain High School is situated on a corner site, with St. John’s Church Road on one side and Promenade Road on the other side. Saunders Road divides St. Germains from Coles Park, meets Fr. Servanton Junction, where it leads on to Seppings Road. The St. Francis Xavier Cathedral forms the fourth border. Promenade Road also houses other schools. St. Francis Xaviers Girls School, St. Johns High School, Thambuchetty Girls School, Goodwill Girls High School, St. Aloysius Primary School, St. Anthony’s Boys School and St. Rock’s Girls School.
Except for the traffic on Saunders Road, the location is very ideal for a school. The main building is over 100 years old, built in the Greco- Roman style, big arches and columns, wide verandahs, in the past it proudly housed St. Joseph’s European High School, the Clergy Home. It provides a fantastic view to the heritage building lover, when one drives past St. John’s Church Road. Over the years, additional buildings have been added to this campus, first by Late Fr Mervyn Coelho, and then additions were made by Fr. Hilary Pereira, the Golden Jubilee Hall. The West Block was put up by Late Fr. Henry Menezes. Fr. John Rose added an Administrative Block with facilities for the PUC to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of the school in 2004.
The school ground, to which Fr. John Rose, added a GRAND STAND, with many trees, is the icing on the cake for the boys.
The Campus has all the basic amenities. It has an Administrative Block in front facing Promenade Road, with class rooms on the upper floors, which also houses the library. On the Eastern side we have the Golden Jubilee Hall and a mini hall with class rooms, and a stage for the assembly. On the western side we have another block, with classrooms and laboratories for physics, chemistry and biology. The Computer Centers are also located on this wing.
The old building has class rooms, a staff room on the ground floor, the Principals residence and Sports Room. The first floor has the chapel and dormitories.
The school has a very strong security wall all around with security fencing with gates at vantage points. A security guard is at the main gate round the clock.
