St. Germain Academy is one of the reputed and prestigious educational Institutions in Bangalore and in the State of Karnataka. It is a Co-Ed Institution. It is situated on a corner site, with St. John’s Church Road on one side and Promenade Road on the other side. Saunders Road borders St. Germain’s in the west. The St. Francis Xavier Cathedral forms the fourth border. Except for the traffic on Saunders Road, the location is very ideal for a school. The main building is over 80 years old, built in the Greco- Roman style, big arches, columns and wide verandahs. In the past it proudly housed St. Joseph’s European High School and the Clergy Home. It was also the first Bishop’s House and the Curial Office. It provides a fantastic view to a heritage building lover, when one drives past St. John’s Church Road. Over the years, additional buildings have been added to this campus, first by the Late Fr. Mervyn Coelho, and then by the late Fr. Hilary Pereira who built the Golden Jubilee Hall. The West Block was put up by the Late Fr. Henry Menezes. Fr. John Rose added an Administrative Block with facilities for the PUC, which was built to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of the School in 2004.
Fr. John Rose added a GRAND STAND to the School ground with many trees to give a better ambience to the playground.
In 2011, Msgr. S. Jayanathan took charge of the Institutions. And, with his initiative and foresight, a NURSERY SECTION was started in 2012 with the CO-ED facility. It was a turning-point in the annals of the Institution. With this facility, education of girls is given importance, besides inculcating gender equality and promoting holistic education. He streamlined the administration by empowering the Staff; implementing the administrative policies formulated by the ABE; Setting up Advisory Committee and other Committees; and Appointing Deans of Studies, Supervisors and Counsellors. With the introduction of Office Automation, rapport with the parents and students are well established. Online registration for the new admissions is yet another development. A number of training sessions are being organized for the Staff to empower them. A professional Computer Academy was set up in 2014, and it was inaugurated by His Grace Archbishop Bernard Moras. Other infra-structures such as Staff Rooms, Gym facility, paving the corridors, Bank Facility

On the western side we have another block, with classrooms and laboratories for physics, chemistry and biology. The Computer labs are also located on this wing.
The old building has class rooms, a staff room on the ground floor, the Principal’s residence and sports room. The first floor has the Prayer Hall and the Community College.
The Institutions has a very strong security wall all around with security fencing and with gates at vantage points. A security guard is posted at the main gate round the clock.
